Sologlobe Presented with a CIPA Award of Excellence in the ‘Efficiency & Operational Improvements’ Category
14th Annual CIPA Awards Honours Canadian Businesses for Innovative Technology Achievements that Help Increase Productivity and Competitiveness

The Canadian Information Productivity Awards (CIPA) has announced that it has selected Sologlobe as the recipient of the Silver Award of Excellence for the Implementation of a Food Traceability System at Viau Foods.
This award recognizes Sologlobe’s achievement in significant and ongoing innovation for business application solutions. The SOLOCHAIN™ solution is a complete logistics and manufacturing solution that helps companies achieve excellence in logistics and manufacturing operations. Integrating leading edge technologies, the solution provides real-time information in order to optimize operations and customer satisfaction.
“The results at Viau Foods were exceptional,” says Angela Sorbo, Vice-President at Viau Foods. “We were able to optimize all aspects of our operations and also put in place a sophisticated and very efficient traceability system.
The traceability system has become a competitive advantage for Viau Foods and has contributed to its success in winning several new accounts,” adds Ms. Sorbo. The traceability requirement is becoming an imperative in many industries as a key capability that needs to be embedded in all material/product handling processes. Integrating the traceability capability as an integral part of a warehouse and manufacturing system has been a good challenge in terms of technology innovation. “Traceability is often a parallel process creating a lot of non-value activities; we focus on optimizing task execution while at the same time collecting the information required for detailed traceability. As a result, you get traceability at no cost; you actually save money,” adds Emmanuel Langlois, Executive Vice-President of Sologlobe. The success at Viau Foods is a great tribute to that innovative approach.

“Sologlobe is honoured to be recognized by CIPA for our research and development of a solution that improves productivity and competitiveness,” says Louis Veilleux, President and CEO of Sologlobe. “This award reflects our company's ongoing commitment to innovation in all aspects of our business, and the remarkable results we continue to reap as a result of that innovation.” Sologlobe, with its SOLOCHAIN™ solution, is clearly becoming a leader in business application solutions for Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). “This award confirms our leadership as one of the best IT companies in Canada but also as one of the best solutions for logistics and manufacturing execution in the world,” adds Mr. Veilleux.
The CIPA awards program recognizes excellence in innovation and the ability of Canadian organizations to change, adapt and compete on a global scale. Finalists for the annual awards are selected from entries submitted by enterprises of all sizes and types across Canada. A CIPA award constitutes the highest form of recognition in Canada for the capabilities of an organization and its executives.
The annual CIPA competition is a showcase for the implementation of best practices. Winners become models for other Canadian organizations on how to adopt new technologies and introduce advanced technologies faster, in order to generate higher productivity, develop innovative products and services and foster increased prosperity for all stakeholders within the organization, the industry and the society at large. www.sologlobe.com
